Deficit Spending Followed By Entitlement Elimination - The Republican Master Plan

I am sure I'm not the only one that sees this. We come off of Bush and Cheney "deficits don't matter" with huge deficit spending. Medicare Part D prescription, no child left behind, and two wars went unfunded (among others). With a huge deficit, doesn't that lend itself all too well to having to cut entitlements?

The only hitch is making sure that taxes aren't raised to increase revenues. So is it any wonder that the Republicans are fighting so hard to make the Bush tax cuts permanent? I think not.

I loved the rhetoric on the Sunday political shows. Rubio said that Republicans were "adding money to medicare" and that the only party cutting medicare was the Democrats. Ryan has said that the Republicans are "saving medicare". I've heard other Republicans saying that 50% of Americans don't pay taxes. To me this is all just smoke and mirrors hiding the real agenda of ending medicare, medicaid, and social security. I look for the Republicans to privatize them all.

 Eric-913730"  Sounds like you forgot about 911 wow how easy some people forget why Bush started that war. And you go on to cheer on Obama? I bet you even drive a jap car to prove how american you really are? Oh and don't give me the old "they are built here crap"  The billions of dollars in profit goes back to Japan. That is billions your obama would not have to have printed up to bail out GM.

    Bob, I agree that Bush needed to go to Afghanistan after 911. He did not, however, have to cut taxes. That was the start of fiscal irresponsibility leading to massive deficits and now the excuse that entitlements must be cut.

    I suppose I could go a step farther and state that moving jobs offshore has also created a need for entitlement cuts.

    Anyway you go, so far you have not been able to disprove my premise that the deficit spending by Republicans was a plot to end entitlements.

    If Obama hadn't bailed out, people who spent $700,000 dollars or more on houses they couldn't afford, we wouldn't be in this jam. Yes Bush shouldn't of cut taxes, yes we should of been out of Afghanistan and Iraq by now. Obama is part of the problem with Iraq and Afghanistan how long has he been in office. He could of stopped this months if not a year ago. He is the commander and chief of our millitary. He directs what they do. Obama raised the minimum wage, while this helped lower and middle income it also hurt our country which was already in financial trouble. Raising the minimum wage put a strain on all business's. Obama spouts off how the housing industry makes most of our countries money. Yet he hikes the minimum wage so contractors who were just getting by lose there shirts because they cann't afford to pay laborers. Why not at dollar increase in the minimum wage instead of two dollars. We have never had that large of an increase in minimum wage. Obama is part of the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Odd you say that the Republicans are responsible or plotted to get rid of entitlements. Get real every Democratic president Carter on has raised how much we are paid. I receive Social Security Disability. While keeping up with inflation is a good thing over stretching a weekend Social Security and other entitlements is a bad idea. The Democrats started giving entitlements to Alcoholics. While this is a disease it is a disease of choice. I had tumor and abcess in my head. I had three major brain surgeries to get it all out. I never did anything to cause the tumor or abcess. Democrats have done more to weekend entitlements than the Republicans have ever done. I am an independent. I would love to see all incumbents get voted out. WHY ARE NONE OF THE CONGRESSMEN NOT TAKING A PAY CUT? WHY ISN"T OBAMA TAKING A PAY CUT? Yes the Republican party is partly to blame but there is plenty of blame to go around!

    Being gay isn't something be are born with. Its a decision that have made in life. People might be born femine acting if they are a guy, or manly if they are a woman. IF God wanted people being born gay then he wouldn't have made Eve. IT would have been Tom. Go read a Bible and see what it says about people liking the same sexes....

        Right on Eric, voters gave the keys back to the GOP and we are headed for the ditch again. Economist are already writing articles of how dumb this GOP majority deal is for the country. Cutting spending is the worst thing for this weak economy. Umeployement will rise, WHOA! I remember the GOP' campaign slogan was to create jobs. Some commenters don't remember and some are just in denial. In denial GWB took a surplus, started '2' wars and gave the wealthy tax breaks. I guess we can blame all this on the Prez. I am also blaming him for killing OSB without starting '2' wars and loosing and maiming thousand of our military personel. I almost can understand why they are in denial....NOT! So we will just let them point their fingers.....LOL, smell the coffee.

          If Congress would adhere to the Constitution, the Army, Air Force and Coast Guard would be disbanded along with the Defense Department and the Pentagon. That would reduce this year's annual deficit from the expected $1.5 trillion down to $178.9 billion, the cost of maintaining the Navy and Marine Corps.(1) Add in Veterans pensions and Veterans Administration costs including monthly benefits including medical care and that number comes out to $303.50 billion annually. That would be a savings of nearly $696.5 and $1 trillion off the U.S. annual deficit.

          Section 8: The Congress shall have power To:

          To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years;

          To provide and maintain a navy;

          To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions.

          Who are the militia? The militia referred to in Clauses 15 & 16 of the U.S. Constitution necessary to defend these United States from invasions, only, not to invade and occupy foreign sovereign nations for the economic benefit of domestic corporations, is to be raised from both the organized and unorganized Militia's as defined in US Code: Title 10: Subtitle A: Part I: Chapter 13 : Section 311. Militia: composition and classes.

          (a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

          (b) The classes of the militia are:

          (1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

          Now let's go back and view the quotes from debates and writings of the founding fathers to define what it is, not some radical pro-standing military attack on the organization posted in magazines published in the United States.

          "Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." – Tenche Coxe, The Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.

          "Whenever governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins." Rep. Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts(spoken during floor debate over the Second Amendment, I Annals of Congress at 750, August 17, 1789.)

          "What, sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty." Rep. Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts Rep. of Massachusetts, I Annals of Congress at 750 (August 17, 1789).

          "Little more can be aimed at with respect to the people at large than to have them properly armed and equipped." (Id) {responding to the claim that the militia itself could threaten liberty}" There is something so far-fetched, and so extravagant in the idea of danger of liberty from the militia that one is at a loss whether to treat it with gravity or raillery (mockery). (Id) Alexander Hamilton

          "A WELL REGULATED militia, composed of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country." James Madison:(1st Annals of Congress, at 434, June 8th 1789.)

            Today marks the 1008 days since the Senate Democrats passed a budget. For more than two years, democrats have ignored their legal obligation to pass a budget, while we've seen federal spending spiral out of control. Considering democrats have controlled the White House and the Senate for more than two years, with total democrat control between 2008 and 2010 in the House, Senate and White House, the failure lies with President Obama and democrat congressional leadership. With today's economic news of increased unemployment the economy hasn't been turned around, but democrats do own the economy. The lack of a budget is directly tied to the debt crisis, out of control government spending,stagnant economic growth and debilitating unemployment in America.
